Dearest FastMac,
I’m so sorry that I have taken you for granted and not acknowledged your various innovative products. We have such a long relationship together that I tend to only think of you when we need a replacement optical drive for an out of warranty MacBook or a really old PowerBook AC adapter. I had no idea that you had grown into this lovely company with wealth of quality, exciting products. Imagine my surprise when I came across your booth at MacWorld 2010 and there was a humorous man hammering M&M’s in between two thin pieces of gel and they stayed intact. The technology is called Impact Gel and it is insane. FastMac has taken this gel and is putting it super thin laptop sleeves. How brilliant is that? I hear by Saturday the guy had put his iPhone in there and was giving it the hammer. The word at the show is that they are shipping bags in March and will have more designs and looks at a later date. It’s not a pretty sleeve right now but if I can run over my MacBook Pro I’m in
The next item up for bid was the wall outlet with two usb charging ports. Um hello, can you say brilliant?! The only thing that would make that better is if you could give me a bank of 6 outlets and 6 USB ports. $20 to change your electrical socket into a double USB charging station? I’m in.
It can’t get any better than that, right? For some of you I probably already hit their money products. For others that are in the market for an iPhone case that has a built in battery for extended use you’re in luck. Fastmac has improved upon the one they are currently selling on their site. Not only do you get a case that is roughly the size of the Mophie Juice Pack Air but it has a bright LED light on the back that can be used as a flashlight or if you use their software it is a synced flash for the camera! Want more? It can double as a Universal Remote control. That almost seems silly but seriously, my iPhone is always on me. Can’t say that I can always find the remote control for the TV. About $130 for the case with the Universal Remote and $79 for the case without the universal remote feature.
And to top it all off they make fanboy/girl shirts! I was a little partial to this one.
Please forgive me for taking you for granted all these years. I promise to be more attentive in the future.
Lovingly yours,
Marilyn
