It’s not often that a non tower defense game gets my love. After seeing quite a few of my trusted iOS gamer friends pronounce their deep and utter love for Jetpack Joyride, I looked it up. I took a leap of faith on it as I wasn’t overly impressed by their screen grabs, but for $.99 I wasn’t too worried about being displeased. I’m so happy I made the purchase as this game is awesome. Oh, and did I mention it’s universal so it works on your iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. Yeah, I’ll repeat, awesome.
How it’s played:
Your character is Barry Steakfries, he breaks into a secret laboratory to steal various experimental jetpacks from evil scientist. This game is along the lines of a Doodle Jump where you start from the beginning each time and see how far you can get. What I like about this is you collect coins, win achievements and it doesn’t necessarily feel like you are doing the same thing over and over. Your coins can be used to upgrade your character’s looks, upgrade your jetpack and buy little single use power ups. While there are some in app purchases the coins are easy enough to gather so you can probably get along just fine for your initial $.99 investment. Sound good?
